Support for Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities

Respite

Respite is funding for care in the home or in the community to provide
a break for other family members. The family has full freedom and control in
choosing their own provider(s) with the training and safeguards to assure
appropriateness and quality of services and supports provided.
Respite may be used as day, evening, or night care, either on special occasions,
emergency situations, or whenever the family chooses.
